Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu has ruled out a summer move for Ousmane Dembele after suggestions the Frenchman would be making way for the arrival of Antoine Griezmann.

The Metro write that Dembele, who moved to Spain for £110m last summer, was a long-term acquisition and will be involved with the Catalan giants next season.

Barcelona splashed out £135.5m on the French global last year, as per BBC Sport, and so they'll likely want to recoup that fee if they are to sell the 21-year-old.

Despite joining Barcelona for a huge sum of £135 million previous year with a lot of expectations from fans towards the former Borussia Dortmund player, Ousmane Dembele had an underwhelming season at FC Barcelona.

'[Philippe] Coutinho, [Ousmane] Dembele are for us a big investment, ' Bartomeu told AP. "They are very important players that we expect from them a lot". Coutinho probably in the last four months has been very active for the team.

Kylian Mbappe has lauded his France teammate Ousmane Dembele, describing him as the best young player in world football. It offers him an opportunity to play his football on the Adriatic Coast next season and to once again find some self-belief.

"The next season will be different".

"They gave me two years of second chances, so why can't they give him a second chance after one game?"

The Spanish giants celebrated their third consecutive UCL title when they beat Liverpool 3-1 in Kiev on Saturday, courtesy of a brace from Gareth Bale and a freak goal from Karim Benzema.

Liverpool have watched the Brazil global closely throughout the campaign, although it is unclear whether the Champions League semi-finalists - who sold Mo Salah to the Anfield club last season - are willing to entertain offers for their first-choice keeper.
