Eminem criticised for use of gunshot sound effects during Bonnaroo set

Speaking afterwards, some fans branded Eminem's performance on Saturday as irresponsible, given the recent spate of fatal shootings in the US.

Concertgoers screamed and ducked as a number of loud blasts rang out during the star's performance of Kill You.

Concert-goers at the Bonnaroo music festival panicked when gunfire FX was used at the close of one of Eminem's songs. "He has used this effect - as have hundreds other artists - in his live show for over 10 years, including previous USA festival dates in 2018 without complaint".

'I have grown up loving eminem and his music but i was extremely triggered to the point of tears'. "To hear a gun shot sound effect and see the entire crowd drop to the floor out of instinct is not funny, cute, or amusing", she added, per E!

The noises came from three pyrotechnics quickly (and loudly) going off during Eminem's set (he was performing the song "Kill You") to imitate bullets being shot.

'Being at a festival/concert in these current times brings new concerns and fears.

The rapper is being criticized by frightened and upset fans who watched the live set, and were shocked to hear realistic gunshot noises during the show. Extremely realistic &scary! Would have been good to have a warning before the show. Following the mass shooting at Las Vegas' Route 91 Harvest Festival past year, Eminem's controversial artistic decision has been branded "EXTREMELY irresponsible and distasteful" by one attendee.

Eminem is yet to comment, however, many Slim Shady fans stood up for the legendary rapper as they rebutted the sounds have always been a part of his set, while he's long lobbied for gun control in the US.

Eminem uses loud gunshots in the show and people are not chill about it. Want him to go.
