Mars Food Canada has issued a voluntary withdrawl on two Uncle Ben's flavored rice products.

Various Ritz Cracker and Ritz Bits products that contain cheese are being voluntarily recalled throughout the United States over concerns about possible Salmonella contamination.

All the crackers involved in the recall have a best if used by date of before June.

Salmonella is a microorganism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. The company is conducting this recall as a precaution based on the ingredient supplier's recall.

In a news release issued Saturday, the company said while the product is sold across Canada, the recall only pertains to products sold in eastern Canada.

Consumers who have these products should not eat them, and should discard any products they may have.

The company says there have also been no reports of illness but made a decision to voluntarily remove out of safety concerns. Consumers with questions can contact the company at 1-844-366-1171, 24 hours a day for more information.

Symptoms include headache, fever, vomiting, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.
