Jurgen Klopp confirms Daniel Sturridge talks

Leroy Sane has delivered his verdict on Liverpool ahead of the upcoming season.

The club have spent £174 million ($229 million) on midfielders Naby Keita and Fabinho, winger Xherdan Shaqiri and, perhaps most crucially, Brazil goalkeeper Alisson.

But having regained full fitness, Sturridge has played a full role for Liverpool during pre-season, featuring in each of their five matches including their International Champions Cup opener against Borussia Dortmund. It is the next step. I need a few training sessions and then I hope I can get some minutes against Manchester United. I know about the expectations and that is completely normal.

The France global, who featured as his country stunned the likes of Uruguay, Argentina and Croatia to win the World Cup in Russian Federation, struggled for the Catalan giants last season.

Liverpool were one of several Premier League and Championship clubs who were sent a detailed scouting dossier outlining Alisson's potential.

However, after confirming the signing of Alisson last week Klopp declared to the Echo: "We've got everything we need for this season". We had a long season a year ago and the World Cup was also very intense. That's what we will do again.

"We're not in doubt - and nobody was ever in doubt - about his quality". "That's good that we'll have them all together, apart from the semi-finalists of the World Cup".

He added: "Transfers always create such a buzz and some fans will always want more".

But this summer, the 28 year-old has found himself thrust straight back into the mix for a place in Liverpool's squad next season after good pre-season performances. In the end it was OK.

Jurgen Klopp brought Shaqiri in to bolster his squad depth and could not resist the chance to sign the forward with his release clause just £13million. "We will see that but it does not happen on the first day".

"Other teams, of course, will do transfer business as well".

Chelsea may be doing bits in the transfer window of late, especially with the capture of midfielder Jorginho, who impressed on his debut against Perth on Monday afternoon, but they will sit behind newly promoted Wolves in the final standings, according to % of bets made. I was sleeping when they came. That's a nice plan as well.

"We expect more from ourselves".
