Marijuana producer Aurora Cannabis says there is no beverage deal to announce

In a report based on anonymous sources, BNN Bloomberg reported Monday that Aurora was in serious talks with the Coca-Cola Company.

The Coca-Cola Company says that it's "closely watching" the growth of the use of a non-psychoactive element of cannabis in wellness drinks.

Soft drinks corporation Coca-Cola is in talks with a cannabis producer to develop marijuana drinks.

The drink would be infused with Cannabidiol, a constituent of cannabis, which can help ease inflammation, pain and cramping, but has no psychoactive effect.

Trading in Aurora shares was halted pending the comments by the company.

These reports prompted several inquiries from readers about the veracity of claims that Coca-Cola was already in negotiations over a beverage that would contain CBD (cannabidiol). As such, the reports remained unproven as of 18 September 2018.

"The space is evolving quickly", Coca-Cola said. "No decisions have been made at this time", Coke added.

Aurora says it was responding to a request for comment by the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada. At this time the Company confirms there is no agreement, understanding or arrangement with respect to any partnership with a beverage company.
