Emery plays down PSG talks with Ramsey

It appeared a deal was close to completion until Arsenal stalled on talks with the 28-year-old two months ago.

But the attacking midfielder is now aware he will leave on a free in June, when his contract expires.

Paris Saint-Germain are keen to hold talks with Aaron Ramsey next month when he is free to speak to foreign clubs about a summer switch, according to Sky sources.

Paris Saint-Germain have touched base with the representatives of Aaron Ramsey and Arsenal to discuss the feasibility of signing the Wales midfielder in the quickly approaching January transfer window.

"The most important thing for every player is for the focus to be here", said the Arsenal head coach.

"It is not easy for Aaron but I have spoken with him and we need his performances for us", said Arsenal manager, Unai Emery.

Ramsey has only seen limited playing time in recent months since Arsenal chose to rescind the offer of a contract extension, with L'Equipe reporting this week that PSG could make him an offer in January.

Despite his impending departure, Ramsey has featured regularly under Emery, making 16 league appearances this term.

Arsenal drew 1-1 away to Brighton on Boxing Day, with Ramsey entering the fray in the 61st minute. I need this focus also from him to help us against Liverpool on Saturday, then to Fulham and then his future is only for him, his agent. We did not win but he is working hard and I am happy.

Above all he should have his focus to help us.
