Fabregas bids farewell to Chelsea with missed penalty

Fabregas played what is expected to be his last game for the Blues in their 2-0 FA Cup win against Nottingham Forest on Saturday and was reduced to tears in an emotional farewell to the Chelsea fans after the game.

FA Cup holders Chelsea have made it through to the fourth round of the competition courtesy of a 2-0 win over Championship promotion chasers Nottingham Forest.

The 31-year-old marked his 500th appearance in English football during the draw with Southampton last time out, with Saturday's game his 501st.

John Barnes believes Cesc Fabregas will leave the Premier League as an Arsenal legend and not a Chelsea legend.

And Belgium global Hazard was quick to praise his team-mate after the win over Forest.

Eden Hazard also took the chance to pay tribute to the midfielder, saying: "In five years I can say that I was lucky to play with him". Since the beginning when he came, we saw it the first year when we won the double together. We are all pleased with his performance but we were even when he didn't score in previous games so hopefully it will be good for his morale that he scored, and hopefully he will be more free in his mind.

Under-fire Spanish forward Alvaro Morata netted the two goals to gift the Blues the crucial victory.

Hudson-Odoi has been the subject of three bids from Bayern Munich, who are refusing to give up in their pursuit of the winger.

"He did very well, with two assists and worked very hard defensively. But for me it's very important and if Cesc will go I think that we need to buy another player, and it's not easy because, technically, Cesc is a very important player", he added.
