Ariana Grande to skip Grammys following disagreement with producers

According to reports, Ariana made the hard decision not to attend the awards after producers refused to let her perform her new track 7 Rings during the show, leaving her "insulted".

According to a source who spoke with Hits Daily Double, the star apparently felt "insulted" after the Grammys production team disallowed her to sing her trap-inspired single "7 Rings" at the upcoming function.

Despite the fact that they supposedly reached "a compromise whereby '7 Rings" would be part of a medley, ' the superstar still chose to skip the whole show after the 'producers insisted that the second song be of their choosing'.

The "Thank U, Next" hitmaker is nominated for Best Pop Vocal Performance for "God Is a Woman" and Best Pop Vocal Album for "Sweetener".

But there was yet another disagreement when the producers insisted that they would be able to choose the second song of the medley.

Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift are reportedly planning to skip the Grammy Awards on Sunday.

Even without Grande, the Grammys' confirmed list of performers include Miley Cyrus, Janelle Monáe, Kacey Musgraves, Brandi Carlile, and Cardi B. Oh, and Post Malone and Red Hot Chili Peppers will be doing something together. Both sides were thereby at an impasse in negotiations, to which the Grammy's counteroffered Lorde a spot in the Tom Petty tribute performance.

The pop star has been nominated for two awards at the Grammys. The song is the second track from her new album "thank u, next" expected to be released February 8 before the awards show.
