Chiefs say no more basketball for Patrick Mahomes

A couple of days ago, a video surfaced online showing Patrick Mahomes giving his best Kyrie Irving moves on the basketball court, complete with a spin move and layup.

The Chiefs are a year away from even being able to break the bank for quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Though if the most recent reports are true, they might be going a tad overboard.

This week, a video circulated on Twitter of the Chiefs quarterback and league MVP dominating a pickup basketball game at a Kansas City gym.

"The (Chiefs) Kingdom can be assured: No more basketball for Pat".

"Yes I did see the tweet of Pat Mahomes playing basketball", Veach said.

"We were laughing but ... the problem with Pat is he does everything 100 miles per hour and is so dang competitive", Veach said.

"As soon as I saw it, it probably took me about two seconds to call his agent and tell him that was a big no-no", Veach said on the radio station Thursday. We were able to nip that in the bud.

The Chiefs got massive production out of Mahomes in 2018, his first year as a starter for the team.

Kansas City finished last season with a 12-4 record and are projected to have the best odds at winning the Super Bowl next season.

It might be understandable that the Chiefs would want Mahomes to avoid risking any sort of injury playing a sport like basketball.
