Fraser Brown and Murray McCallum added to Scotland's Six Nations squad

Prop McCallum (22) last featured for Scotland on the 2018 summer tour and joins as fellow Edinburgh tightead Willem Nel continues his recovery from a calf strain sustained in the national team's opening victory over Italy at BT Murrayfield Stadium on Saturday. "Not sure who will come in instead of him".

Italy ran out 22-15 winners in Cardiff in last year's competition and will be hoping home advantage sees them over the line against the Welsh at Stadio Via del March. They were really smart around the field. "England were so physical with them, they were tackling in twos, and the dominance of their defence was insane, so we'll be looking to do the same". The returning British and Irish Lion Sean O'Brien replaces Josh van der Flier in the back row. "They started well and played very well, but that doesn't make Ireland a bad team", said the 29-year-old. "That game's in the history books now and we can't change any of that, so we're looking forward to this week, a massive step up, especially with the way they'll be coming over to Murrayfield".

'We have top players at nine and ten, too, so we'll be looking to win that battle as well.

McCallum last featured for Scotland on the 2018 summer tour, while Brown, capped 38 times, played in two Six Nations matches previous year.

"We've had the highlights up around the team room and seen how England beat them, but we've got some stuff up our sleeves for ourselves".

'It's definitely in the back of our minds already to do the country proud against Ireland'. "That is something we're focusing on". We've done our review on Italy.

"If we get back to the accuracy that we can bring, we're confident we can bring the performance as well".
