The Athletic had previously reported that "multiple contenders" are expected to express interest and potentially pursue the veteran in upcoming free agency, specifically noting the Warriors and 76ers.

The No.1 overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, Bogut played 13 seasons with five NBA teams from 2005-18 and averaged 9.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks.

The report noted that Bogut's representatives are working this week through a letter of clearance process from the Sydney Kings of Australia's NBL.

His NBA career highlights include winning a championship with the Warriors in 2014-15 and making the All-NBA Third Team with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2009-10.

Bogut averaged 11.4 points and led the league with 11.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game.

The veteran centre said that he had retired from the National Basketball Association upon announcing his Sydney Kings deal a year ago, but may be tempted to take a short-term deal if the offer is right.

The 34-year-old was named the NBL's most valuable player and best defensive player after guiding the Kings to the semifinals of the NBL where they were swept 2-0 by Melbourne.
