Warriors plan to sign C Andrew Bogut

The Sydney Kings centre, who spent four years at the Warriors including winning a title in 2015, sparked interest from multiple National Basketball Association teams but U.S. media reports quoting league sources said Bogut's return to the All-Star-loaded California team was imminent.

The Golden State Warriors expect to sign their former center Andrew Bogut soon, a source told ESPN, although there are formalities that have to be completed before a contract can be signed.

This season, he played for Australia's Sydney Kings of the NBL.

An unsigned free agent, Bogut returned to Australia and played for the Kings and was named the NBL's most valuable player and best defensive player.

Heading into their matchup with the defending champion Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, (10:30 p.m. ET - Watch on FuboTV with NBA League Pass add-on), the Celtics sit at fifth in the Eastern Conference with a 38-26 overall record.

Bogut played on the Warriors from 2012-2016.

Andrew Bogut is contracted to the Kings until the end of 2020.

Despite lofty preseason expectations, things haven't gone very smoothly for the Boston Celtics this season, and according to third-year forward Jaylen Brown, the environment around the team is 'toxic'. He's among the most clutch players in the league and can create his own shot in any type of scenario.

"The Philadelphia 76ers have expressed interest in trying to get a big man and with Embiid coming back from a knee injury, they could use another big man potentially".

"Resilience, patience, perseverance and just being there for one another and celebrating your teammates' success", the Celtics point guard said when asked what was needed going into the final 17 games and the playoffs.
