For most of the season, Jordan Henderson has played in a deep-lying midfielder's role for Liverpool but against Southampton, the England worldwide came on in the second half and totally changed the game while playing in a more advanced role.

As a result Liverpool have benefited as he scored his first goal in nearly 18 months at Southampton on Friday and played a sublime role in the second goal against Porto.

"Liverpool take a two-goal lead to Porto on Wednesday and I feel they can maintain their title challenge against Chelsea even though the Blues have such an excellent recent record at Anfield - unbeaten in their last six in the Premier League and 2-1 winners in the League Cup earlier in the season", Owen told Bet Victor. "At the same time when I played No 6, I felt I've learned that position really well and if I need to play there I can do a job there too".

"I felt good in the England games [last month] playing in that position", Henderson explained. "I felt more comfortable.in [an advanced] position for England, creating chances and doing what I enjoy doing".

"It's difficult to do that, it's hard".

"I can do both positions and he sees that I can do both. When I play the deeper position my role changes and I try to do different things and I can't affect it as much in the final third". "For me as a captain and as a player at this football club, I always put the team first", he added.

"In the last couple of years there hasn't really been a player like Fabinho in that role, so I've had to adapt to that role".

"I just thought that might give me a bit more licence to get forward more at times - but you never know. Brilliant play and I liked it".
